September Scroll-Stoppers: 4 Memorable Watersports Sessions | Waterspeed
Every month, thousands of sessions are tracked on Waterspeed.
Some are fast. Some are long. Some happen in iconic spots. And some simply make us stop scrolling.
From championship racing and America’s Cup sailing to a first session in a new home and a 170 km downwinder, September brought plenty of memorable sessions to the Waterspeed community.
Here are five sessions that caught our attention in September.
1. Blokart World Championships — Llanbedr, UK
Wheels instead of fins. Same wind.
The Blokart World Championships brought together competitors from around the world for some seriously fast racing on land — and some of the participants tracked their races on Waterspeed.
It’s not every day that we see a Blokart session appear in the app, which is exactly what made this one stand out.
The championship is a great reminder that wind-powered sports come in many forms, and that there’s a story behind every session worth tracking.
2. Hoek tot Helder 8 — 170 km in 10h 35m
Some sessions are hard to comprehend until you see them on a map.
This one covered 170 km in 10 hours and 35 minutes during Hoek tot Helder 8 — one of the longest one-day downwinders in the world.
The entire session was tracked on Waterspeed, capturing every kilometre of the journey.
That’s more than a workout. It’s a serious day on the water — and one that’s definitely worth having saved.
3. First Session in Hood River
There’s something special about your first session in a new home.
And if that home is Hood River, even better.
One of Waterspeed’s most popular spots, Hood River has become a favourite destination for wind and water sports enthusiasts from around the world.
So when we spotted a rider tracking their first session there as a new resident, we had to include it.
A new home. A legendary spot. And a first session to remember.
Are you one of the Hood River regulars?
4. Sailing Into the America’s Cup Action
Why watch from the shore when you can sail right into the action?
This session took place during the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup, giving the rider a front-row seat to one of sailing’s biggest events.
There’s something special about being on the water while the action is happening around you — and even better when you can look back at the session afterwards and see exactly where you went.
A pretty good way to experience the America’s Cup.
Every Session Has a Story
These activities are completely different.
Different sports. Different locations. Different goals.
But they all have something in common: they were tracked on Waterspeed.
Because tracking your session isn’t just about recording distance or speed. It’s about keeping a record of where you went, what you did and the moments that made that day on the water memorable.
And with thousands of activities uploaded every month, there’s always another story waiting to be discovered.
