NorthStar hits 101.3 km/h — captured on Waterspeed

The NorthStar SailGP Team just recorded a new in-race top speed of 101.3 km/h on the waters of Waitematā Harbour at the ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix.

That’s more than 28 meters per second on water.

And the full session is now live on Waterspeed, recorded by Wing Trimmer Paul Campbell-James (‘CJ’).

More Than a Headline Number

101.3 km/h is a stat. But on Waterspeed, it becomes a story.

Inside the activity, you can see:

  • The exact moment the boat peaked

  • The speed build-up leading into the run

  • GPS track replay across the course

  • Section splits and heatmaps

  • Performance data that shows how the speed was achieved

This is what we believe water performance should look like — measurable, visual, and shareable.

Whether you're racing at 100+ km/h or chasing your own personal best, the principle is the same:

Capture it.
Understand it.
Relive it.
