Waterspeed partners with The Magenta Project to grow women's sailing

We're pleased to announce a new partnership with The Magenta Project — a global initiative dedicated to advancing women's participation in sailing.

The partnership is built around a six-month pilot programme bringing together a group of female sailors to use Waterspeed's performance tracking tools and share feedback that will help us build a better platform for women on the water.

"Dedicated female-focused performance data in sailing has been hard for women to access. Partnering with Waterspeed gives our community the ability to track their progress, benchmark against each other, and take ownership of their development on the water. That's something we've wanted to make happen for a long time."

— Victoria Low, CEO, The Magenta Project

As part of the launch, we will be running a female-only challenge this summer, open to sailors across both communities. It's a chance to get on the water, track your session, and see how your performance compares.

"Women are underrepresented across almost every watersport on Waterspeed, and we know that's not a reflection of who's out there sailing. The Magenta Project is doing the most important work in this space and we want to build a platform that actually serves their community — not just as an afterthought, but by design."

— Matt Sproson, Head of Marketing, Waterspeed

Beyond the pilot, we're exploring what a longer-term collaboration could look like — including research into female-specific biometrics and performance data. There's genuinely important work to be done here, and The Magenta Project are exactly the right partners to do it with.

More details on the challenge and how to get involved are coming shortly. If you're a female sailor and want to take part, keep an eye on our channels.
