What is Waterspeed?
Waterspeed is a watersports app that records your sessions with GPS, on your phone or your watch. It shows your speed, distance, turns and much more, adds safety features like live location sharing, and connects you with a community of riders.
Which sports does Waterspeed support?
More than 30, including sailing, windsurf, wingfoil, SUP, kayak, eFoil, pumpfoil, downwind, rowing and power boat. Each sport has its own metrics, so you see the numbers that matter for what you do.
Do I need to take my phone on the water?
No. You can record with a compatible watch or instrument: Apple Watch, Garmin, COROS, Suunto, Wear OS and Vakaros. Your session then syncs to the app.
Which phones does Waterspeed work on?
Waterspeed works on iPhone and Android. Download it from the App Store or Google Play.
Is Waterspeed free?
Yes. You get full access to your first 5 sessions, then unlimited recording with basic stats on every session. Pro unlocks full performance data on all your sessions, and Ultra adds race-level analysis.
What is the difference between Pro and Ultra?
Pro gives you full data on every session, best speed analytics, foiling efficiency, tacks and gybes analysis, race countdown and live location sharing. Ultra includes everything in Pro and adds legs and runs breakdown, polar charts, VMG analysis and true wind angle.
Can I try Pro or Ultra before paying?
Yes, you can start a trial from the app. The store shows the trial length and price before you confirm.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google. Cancel anytime from the subscription settings of the App Store or Google Play, with the same account you used to subscribe.
How does live location sharing work?
With Pro, you can share your live position with friends, family or coaches while you are on the water, so they know where you are and when you are back.
Can I use Waterspeed on the web?
Yes. Sign in to the Waterspeed web app to see your sessions and import files, for example from Vakaros.
Does Waterspeed work with Strava and GPS-Speedsurfing?
Yes. You can share your sessions to Strava and send them to GPS-Speedsurfing to compare your speeds.
